Dental Visit Frequency
It is a long standing issue- you keep putting off your dental visits! Is it really that necessary to go to your appointment, especially since you don't have a toothache? How often should you really being going?
Prevention
All good questions! Let’s first understand why frequent dental visits are so important. If you could save time and money, would you? Of coarse you would! At the dentist, the greatest way to do this, is to keep your dental visits nice and regular. Why? In this way, the dentist can catch early warning signs of tooth decay, fractures, gum disease, oral cancer, and other problems. When you prevent serious dental issues, you save both time and money!
At home you may do your best to keep your teeth clean with brushing and flossing. This is commendable! But only a dental professional can properly clean away bacteria causing calculus. This is that hard, white material that always seems to build up behind your bottom front teeth. If left on your teeth, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria in the gums. When a dental professional removes this, your gums have a fresh start.
Frequency
The average person should visit their dentist every 6 months or twice per year. In the case of a patient who needs a deep cleaning, they are encouraged to get a cleaning every 3 to 4 months in addition to their 6 month check-up.
